Getting Absorbed In Your Current Read

How do I find a good read? This is a common question everyday among several book enthusiasts. However, finding a good read/book; goes back to proper & good reading etiquette.

One man's meat can be another man's poison - ironical in its true sense, this saying means: realistically not everything that works for me, should work for someone else. There are many factors that determine a reader's preference. However among these various factors, there are those which are mutual & universal - etiquette of good reading.

These etiquette are molded on how a reader treats their book, which environment they're reading from; genre of preference; how a reader chooses their book as well their mindset towards the book/ author etc. Therefore etiquette of good reading are so essential in finding a great read.

Avoid Skimming

unless it is reading for a school assignment, examination or anything of a kind. As a  reader you should avoid skimming through the book - why hurry so much? After all it's your book and you would want to enjoy it as much as possible. Take your time and read detail by detail, page to page, chapter to chapter as per your target; until you finish the book.

You shouldn't miss out on any part of the book. When writers are writing the books, every detail is a brick building up to something of interest to the book; skipping some parts of the read might let you miss out something of great interest thus finding the book a fair read.

Make  Your Read A Priority

Avoiding skimming, identifying your next read carefully, putting much interest in choosing your next genre, personalizing your TBR list; the above are some of affirmations to the fact that a reader has prioritized their reading.

firstly, personalizing your reading life is key. They  often say "you can listen from any man but let the decision making be personal". At the end of the day it will be you and your read - remember everyone wants something that is  refreshing to the soul. i anticipate you have chosen your read carefully. as a good reader you should invest higher interest at all time in your read.

Several occasions some readers read books quickly with the intention of conformity in social circles - reading to fit in; which is a good idea. Reading to post & boast on social media because everyone in book clubs & group are posting about that particular book. Any person out their who is on a read book journey of discovery , learning, exploring stories, culture & literature etc - they should refrain from such traits. the world of literature is universally diverse. there are no limitations to exploring as much stories, culture & writers etc as much as possible.
